Plan Your Sushi ExperienceSushi, served at the
moment of its making.
Great sushi isn't a dish. It's a moment.
At Selene, every cut of fish is sourced from licensed NYC seafood partners — same-day fresh, sushi-grade, handled with the discipline the craft demands. Our master sushi chefs train in traditional technique: the knife work, the rice temperature, the architecture of a single piece of nigiri.
We bring complete sushi programs to weddings, corporate events, galas, and private dinners across New York City, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island, Long Island, Westchester, and into New Jersey. Passed canapé service, live chef stations, beautifully arranged platters, or full omakase — designed around your event and presented like art.
Four Ways to Serve Sushi
From hand-passed canapés at cocktail hour to a full omakase dinner — choose the format that fits your event, your venue, and your guests.
Passed Sushi Service
Hand-passed nigiri and maki served canapé-style during cocktail hour. Servers circulate with chef-arranged trays — the perfect elevated welcome before the main meal begins.
Live Sushi Station
A master sushi chef rolling nigiri and maki in front of your guests at a dedicated station. Interactive, visually striking, and the photographic centerpiece of the night.
Sushi Platter Service
Beautifully arranged sushi platters for buffet service, family-style dinners, and grazing-format events. Generous portions, artistic plating, ideal for larger guest counts.
Live Omakase Experience
The ultimate sushi format. A private master chef presents 12–18 courses, plated one at a time, paced for the table. Intimate, conversational, and the height of the craft.

Sushi Experience Questions
What's the difference between Nigiri, Maki, and Premium Selection?
Nigiri Selection ($24/person) is our entry tier — six pieces of classic nigiri per guest, ideal for cocktail hour or as a course within a larger menu. Maki Selection ($26/person) is our most popular package — sixteen pieces combining nigiri and specialty rolls. Premium Selection ($32/person) is our top tier — premium fish like toro, uni, and ikura, plus signature rolls and garnish service.
Where do you source your fish?
All our fish is sourced through licensed NYC seafood distributors — same-day fresh, sushi-grade, with full traceability. We work with multiple suppliers depending on seasonality and your menu, but every cut meets sashimi-grade handling standards from boat to table.
Can you accommodate raw-fish allergies, vegetarian, and vegan guests?
Yes — every sushi program includes vegetarian and vegan options (avocado, cucumber, asparagus, tofu-based rolls and nigiri) at no extra cost. For raw-fish allergies, we offer cooked alternatives — tempura rolls, shrimp nigiri, eel — clearly labeled and prepared on dedicated boards.
How does the Live Sushi Station work?
We set up a dedicated sushi bar at your venue — a station with our chef, fish display, rolling boards, and finished pieces. Guests approach and watch the chef prepare nigiri and maki in real time, picking from the menu or taking the chef's recommendation. It's both food and entertainment.
What's an Omakase Experience?
Omakase ("I'll leave it to you") is the traditional sushi format where a master chef presents 12–18 courses one at a time, paced for the table. The chef chooses each piece based on the season, the fish that came in that day, and the conversation at the table. It's intimate — typically 6–12 guests at a counter — and the ultimate sushi experience. We bring full omakase service to private residences, intimate dinners, and milestone celebrations.
Can you cater Japanese-cultural events?
Yes. We regularly cater Japanese-themed weddings, cultural events, and corporate hospitality events. Our chefs can design menus around traditional kaiseki structure, seasonal fish selections, and pair sushi with sake service for a complete Japanese dining experience.
Do you provide custom or branded sushi for events?
Yes — for corporate launches, brand activations, and themed events, we offer custom sushi designs: signature rolls named after your product, branded edible garnish, custom plating with logos, and themed presentation. Our chef and your design team work together on the brief.
Do you cater outside of New York City?
Yes. We serve all five NYC boroughs, plus Long Island, Westchester County, the Hudson Valley, and northern New Jersey. Out-of-region events are considered case-by-case — sushi requires careful temperature handling, so distance and timing matter for quality.
